Jabari crept through the jungle floor, crouched down as muscles rippled underneath his pelt. Each step, each stride was placed with careful precision and timing. Eyes narrowed as small pupils stared ahead through a hazel gaze. He kept his breathing quiet, heart gently thumping against his chest. His right ear twitched ever so slightly, stopping for just a moment before continuing to creep forward. It was so tantalizingly close as he lowered his head to just inhale its scent. The blood rushing underneath its pelt made his skin prickle with goosebumps. Adrenaline began to pump through his veins, jaw clenching for a moment. His ears pricked forward when it began to move forward. Claws unsheathed from his paws; he couldn't let it escape again. His jaws parted ever so slightly to let a soft husky breath out, ivories bared to be prepared to pounce. He had been stalking this rabbit for a little while and like hell he was going to go home empty handed. Beginning to rise from the ground, he lifted himself slightly, arching his back. The rabbit began to hop away and alarm set in. Adrenaline rushed through his body and coursed through him, weaving itself through his brain. Pushing forward, he leaped off the ground and aimed to strike his paws on top of the critter.
It darted forward and he followed as he boosted forward from the momentum. He grew closer with leaps and bounds, keeping his gaze locked on the fuzzy prey. However he was clumsy this morning and he didn't notice the rock on the ground. His back paws hit against it, making him slide forward on his chest with a yowl of surprise. He slid to a halt rapidly to watch the now blurry rabbit bounce away from his grasp. A sigh of defeat escaped his jaws before letting his chin lay against the ground. "Dammit...." He murmured before closing his hazel eyes briefly, letting a stinging ache set in his wounded flank, the scar feeling like it had a heart beat. A paw laid itself on his muzzle as dull eyes opened once more. "I'm stronger than they think I am..." He muttered before releasing a yawn. "Idiots..." A small snarl rumbled from his throat before slowly rising to his paws. "What do they know? I'm better off without them.... Ah, what am I saying, I can't do shit without the training they offer me." He shook his head before he licked a paw and swiped it over his face, shaking out his thick pelt.
A snap of a twig sounded off near by, making his muscles grow rigid beneath his thick fur. A sudden growl and a snap of his jaws sounded off, back arched and fur spiked out to make him appear larger. "Show yourself!" He demanded, claws once more unsheathed from his rather large paws. The pouch that was tied around his neck dangled against his chest, holding his soul stone that he knew was dear to him. One day he would have the power to show that he was better than anybody ever thought... what do they know? He was stronger than an average lynx... he could be as great as the rest of those felines were. They didn't know anything about him... not like it mattered. He knew he was strong! And one day he would show it... didn't mean he was evil though. Just determined to prove his strength. Complex minds for complex hearts. The Army Legion was one of places he had to prove his worth... they didn't quite see it, but they would soon. If he could grow stronger, better. Maybe he could try to get to the Lucis Temple and become a scholar... well, might as well take it easy for a little.

The slender frame of a marbled ocelot sprawled out on a low hanging branch. The feline had just enjoyed herself a nice breakfast of a sparrow and while that was barely an appetizer for a larger cat, it filled her up quite nicely. Licking her lips to rid it of any traces of blood, she let a soft purr rumble up from her chest briefly before a stumbling noise caught her attention. Rising to her paws on her branch, her jaws stretched wide in a yawn and she shook her silky coat out before peering down below her for the source of the squabble.
Pale, silvery blue eyes scanned the jungle terrain beneath her until she caught sight of a lynx lying in a heap underneath her tree. A soft giggle slipped past her jaws and she immediately smirked when she recognized the lynx. She gave him a moment to collect himself, his cursing drifting through the air towards her keen ears. Her smile only grew as she watched him before finally making her location known. Stepping on a thin branch, it snapped easily and he jumped into war mode, only causing another purr of laughter to rumble up in her chest.
"Easy there killer, after seeing you chase down that poor rabbit, I'm terrified to see what you'd do to little old me." She retorted, bounding gracefully from one branch to another before landing on the ground in front of him.

It wasn't that he was necessarily meant to be an angry feline, it's just how people made him out to be. Portraying somebody as w weak because of their size wasn't exactly his ideal topic. He didn't like the bigger felines, thinking they're all high and mighty just because they're larger. A picky one he was little Jabari, it wasn't surprising he didn't like a lot of people considering a lot of people didn't like him either. Not that he minded, he would much prefer serenity and quiet than some annoying little bugger constantly by his side, but hey what did he know? He was more of an introvert than anything else. Socializing was not one of his best traits and quite frankly he'd like to keep it that way. The world was cold and cruel and the strongest survived while the weak were left out in the sun to dry. It was disheartening, but true nonetheless. It was kill or be killed, a dog eat dog world kinda thing.
It didn't surprise him that somebody had come along after all the ruckus he made. Ears pinned against his skull fiercely, deep guttural growls rumbling from his thickly-built frame. However all was for naught when a little female ocelot strolled into view. She didn't seem hostile, mostly from the fact an amused purr came from her, making heat rise to his face in embarrassment. His ears flicked forward with a snort puffing out of his nostrils. "Easy there killer, after seeing you chase down that poor rabbit, i'm terrified to see what you'd do to little old me." Eyes darted away as claws flexed agains the ground. "Whatever... it was just a slip up anyways." He grunted, avoiding eye contact as to not see some sort of smug look he believed to be on the feminine's face. "Besides, I don't think you could catch anything. Seems like you've got more bark than bite." He commented before strolling past her, head held high as hardened eyes stared ahead. "Wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't." A small but smug smirk came to his muzzle, a little challenge never hurt anybody.

Whatever... it was just a slip up anyways. Her silvery blue eyes looked him over before tilting her head to the side a bit. Besides, I don't think you could catch anything. Seems like you've got more bark than bite. Apparently this male was one to get his feelings hurt quickly. Oh brother, just cause he couldn't catch a rabbit? Everyone had their off hunting days. Talia studied him for a moment, eyes narrowing as he spoke. Wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't. So much for being polite, she thought with a huff.
Running her tongue across her ivory fangs, she took a deep breath before raising her brows at him. "As if I have anything to prove to you, fluff ball!" She hissed back, her ears flicking backwards to lay against her head for a moment. She was not one to take crap from anyone, especially not this fluffy little lynx.
"What's your deal anyway? A missed rabbit doesn't ruffle fur THAT much." She retorted, turning to look at the male as he watched past her. Not that she really cared what his deal was but she figured she'd try to be nice-ish. Her patience wouldn't last very long though. If he wasn't careful he'd get a slash across the nose like any other cat that challenged her.

"As if I have anything to prove to you, fluff ball!" Oh, a feisty one? That was more to his liking. He always liked somebody who could stand up for themselves, seems she had a little bit of patience in her. He slowly stopped his paws, interest and curiosity piqued before turning around. "I'm listening." He murmured before watching the tiny ocelot. "What's your deal anyway? A missed rabbit doesn't ruffle fur THAT much." His head cocked to the right slightly before licking a paw and swiping it over his ear. "Ah, it's nothing. I'm just not one for socializing that's all, but you seem to have caught my interest." He commented as a matter-of-fact kinda way. Sitting himself down, his tail tucked near his injured flank, he offered a small grin. A moody little lynx this one. "I'm Jabari. I like your fire, kid." He stated, leaning his head over to begin licking some leaves and dirt out of his pelt. "What are you doing out here anyway?" He asked, glancing over briefly before resuming his grooming. Not that he cared all the much but might as well humor her with small talk. Why was he socializing with this little ocelot exactly? He wasn't sure. He was a moody one though, and he quite liked the fire in her spirit. It somehow almost ruffled his fur but at the same time it was pleasant and refreshing. It wasn't like back at the Army Legion where everybody just downsized the smaller feline breeds. Could be a change of scenery for him, good or bad.

She wasn't sure what she had said or done that had caused him to stop in this tracks but he paused and turned back around to face her so she could speak to his face instead of his retreating behind. Ah, it's nothing. I'm just not one for socializing that's all, but you seem to have caught my interest. His words confused her a bit and she raised a brow but quickly shook it off. She doubted that him not wanting to socialize with someone would put him in such an awful mood but what did she know.
I'm Jabari. I like your fire, kid. She was glad that he seemed to have lost his pissy attitude somewhat though and figured she could calm down a bit as well if he was willing to do it. Though his kid comment was gonna cost him. "Talia. And I'm not a kid!" She replied, taking the few steps needing to get closer to him. She stretched her neck out as far up as she could to get as in his face as was possible before she sat back on her haunches with furrowed brows, huffing a bit but not calling him a name so that was a small victory of sorts.
What are you doing out here anyway? His words made her relax a bit and she lifted her chin before answering. "Hunting, same as you." She replied simply, blinking slowly with her chin still proudly lifted. He was silent for a moment before she finally glanced over at him as he cleaned his coat. "You from Naxorus?" She asked, wondering where it was he called home.
She caught sight of the pouch tied around his neck and she would bet that his soul stone was inside. She didn't like that she couldn't see the color of it. She liked to know what kind of feline she was dealing with. Not that she would hold her tongue anyways but still. Her own soul stone was fixed into a leather harness which held the soul stone square on her small chest and the straps went in between her front legs before attaching to another strip of leather that wrapped around her torso and yet another wrapping around her neck. Her father had it made for her when she was younger because when she was always rough housing with her brother, string would never hold it around her neck and there were countless times she'd lost it. But now she was sure to never lose it since she never took it off.

He stared at the confusion and wonder in her face, and it stayed, just for a brief moment before she shook it away. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips before sitting back on his haunches. He ran his tongue over a paw and swiped it over his ear casually. "Talia. And i'm not a kid!" He watched as the little ocelot marched over and shoved her face dangerously close to his. A paw raised to gently boop it on her nose teasingly. She seemed to have gotten a little attitude about the kid comment, though her angry face was more equivalent to that of a chipmunk's to be honest.
He watched as her bunched up muscles began to softly relax underneath her pelt, making a curious ear flick. "Hunting, same as you." She tilted her chin upwards proudly, making a soft chuckle rumble from him. "Have you caught anything yet?" It didn't seem like it but hey maybe she stashed it somewhere. "You from Naxorus?" She said after a stretch of silence, tongue pausing over his fur before nodding. "Yep. I'm in the Army Legion. How 'bout you?" He asked before resuming his grooming. He did feel her burning gaze on his frame but he didn't particularly care to look over.

He didn't seem to take her in-his-face threat very seriously because he soon bopped her on the nose playfully. Furrowing her brows as she glared up at him, she wiggled her nose as if there was something left there before huffing a bit and slumping back onto her haunches. One more of those and he'd have a nice scratch on his nose, she thought. A slight smirk played at her lips briefly at the thought of scratching him across the nose to prove just how much she was NOT a kid but the thought soon slipped from her mind and her blue gaze shifted back to him.
Have you caught anything yet? His words reminded her of his earlier failed attempt at catching a rabbit for himself. "Well of course! I caught myself a plump bird just a little bit ago. Quite delicious the plump ones are. Once you get past the feathers that is." She replied, licking her lips a bit as she remembered plucking the feathers from the bird's skin and gorging her little self on the juicy meat it had provided. She knew a plump bird probably wouldn't be enough to fill up a large lynx like him but she had been quite satisfied after the meal.
Tilting her little head to the side a bit, she asked her next question and waited for his response. Yep. I'm in the Army Legion. How 'bout you? His response made her furrow her brows in thought before she shrugged once more. "Yup! I'm a part of the city guard." She replied proudly, lifting her chin once more as she glanced over at him to see what his reaction would be. Her claws were ready in case he decided to make fun of her for being too tiny to be a guard. After all, it wouldn't be the first time she would have to carve up someone's face for teasing her about her size.
