APPEARANCE

Dantai is a bit lighter than the average lion but still has a creamy, straw like coat. His mane is a bit thinner than some males and is light, only darkening around the tips and along his crest. Some of his cub spots seem to have never faded away, leaving dark marks along his legs and belly. His eyes are a light but piercing blue, darker than the soul stone marks that will appear on him later in life. He's slender but strongly built.

Dantai has an average build. He's relatively slender along the midline but has musculature that would be expected of a lion his age. A bit lighter than the average lion, his pelt striking at a dark cream-light straw color. No scars but he has some darker spots around the front of his hind legs and belly as if some of his cubhood spots never faded away.

SOUL STONE

He hasn't received his soul stone marks yet, but they will glow a light, silvery blue color when he learns to utilize them. Dantai currently has no discovered abilities.

PERSONALITY

He's quiet and reserved and can appear to constantly be in a state of deep thought. He's very internal and always thinks things through, even when his anger flares.
 Although he prefers to avoid conflict, it isn't because Dantai is fearful of the outcome. He doesn't hesitate to back his beliefs should the need arise, and would fight boldly to protect those in danger.
 When it all boils down to it Dantai is a kind soul. He has a good heart with the right motivations, but his disinterest in meaningless conversation makes him seem standoffish. He'd always lend a helping paw when given the chance however, and it is his sincere kindness that gives him such an interest in light magic.

He cares quite a bit about his image before other lions, despite the fact that he has so little to do with them. He wants to exude an air of strength and intelligence. He does pride himself on being an attractive male but doesn't necessarily boast; again he's very internal and keeps his own prideful thoughts to himself. His concern with his image can sway his actions though and not always for the better.
 While internalizing your thoughts can be beneficial at times, Dantai does it to a fault. His unwillingness to share his feelings with others makes him appear distance and standoffish. He avoids interactions not because he doesn't enjoy the company of other lions, but because company usually means an obligation to idle chitchat that Dantai simply doesn't wish to partake in.


His biggest fault is his intolerance of others. He holds himself to a higher standard than other lions and because he does so he can get annoyed with others rather easily. Ignorance isn't something he knows how to tolerate and he'd rather walk away from or ignore something than put up with nonsense. He tries to avoid conflict by keeping his distaste hidden but even he has trouble keeping foul words from bubbling up occasionally.

In summary Dantai is quiet. He prefers to keep to himself because small talk annoys and bores him. Like anyone he does enjoy company from time to time but he's yet to meet a lion that understands his personality and is also content with silence. He internalizes his feelings and doesn't open up, and doing so can sometimes exacerbate his short-tempered nature. He's got a short fuse and while he's pretty good and concealing his feelings toward another for the sake of avoiding conflict, he slips sometimes. He's very concerned with the way others perceive him and thinks himself both attractive and more intelligent than most other lions. Despite all of his faults though Dantai truly has a deep rooted compassion for others of his kind and protects the well being of those in need.

HISTORY

Dantai was raised in a relatively well off family of merchants. His mother had studied in her earlier years to gain the knowledge necessary to craft potions and his father was a skilled armor maker. After meeting by chance the two married and worked side by side, selling their own crafts in the Agora. Dantai and Kilani were the only cubs born to the pair at the time that the young male decided he no longer wanted to live in the city.



There were a few factors that contributed to his decision to leave. First and foremost the city life wasn't for him. He didn't enjoy being in the mix of all of the hustle and bustle of Naxorus. He'd always preferred solitude over socializing and it seemed that he was always being forced into uncomfortable interactions when he lived in the city. While living with his parents Dantai had also been put on the fast track to life as a merchant, and such complacency simply didn't interest him. He wasn't exactly looking for adventure per say, but he liked having the option to roam and go as he pleased. His compassion for other lions despite his aversion to chatting with them lead him to seek more knowledge about soul stone abilities, particularly those that revolved around light magic and healing. So he set off to the jungle where he could live in peace while exploring his own strengths.
