FALL - The temperature is starting to fall a bit as it starts to cool off. The sun isn't as hot and the relief from the heat is much needed.

Swift feet glide over the undergrowth, avoiding stones and stepping on the rigid bark of long departed trees which once stood watch over the dormant jungle, now serving their purpose in paving the ground for their saplings. Beetles crawl to and fro, birds sing from the cracks of sunlight that filter through the canopy, their songs are foreign but happy all the same. The air is thick with the scent of creatures which call this place home, from the snakes that slither up the branches of emerald leaves to the wild ferocious beings that stalk their prey under the shade of the mangrove. The jungle is alive and well and she is never alone.
Vino stretches is hind limbs , letting gravity pull his spine down as he pulls his upper half up. He cant resist a yawn, it's early but time has always escaped him since coming here. Life is different now, where there once used to be miles of open Savannah and the freedom to run on and on now has turned into walls enclosed of wood and leaves. It's not entirely unpleasant however just a new playground he's yet to explore. The cheetah glances backwards, hidden in the small crevice of a horizontal log lies a small figure tucked safely inside, his body shifts with every gentle breath. Hyro is dead to the world as far as anyone is concerned, his small body burns up energy fast and almost as much effort he puts into playing he puts into sleeping as well.
Vino purrs despite himself and slowly begins to exit the small clearing, it's nestled in a secluded area that's hard to reach unless you know where you are going, he had found it by chance and couldn't believe his luck. His cub will be safe on his own for a little while, enough for the cheetah to find them some breakfast. It might not be as luxurious as what they ate when he hunted as a clan, but it keeps them from feeling hunger and it is enough. Plus, Hyro always mentions he likes the sound the small critter bones make when chewed upon, and Vino is nothing if not an indulgent father. Although he would prefer if his son liked more healthier choices instead of the skinny rodents.
The cheetah shakes his thoughts from his head and straightens his posture, tail going rigid behind him as he listens to the rumble of the forest for his next meal.It should not be long, the jungle is never lonely.

Reeves knew that he needed to be off towards the Outlands of Kyon if he was to follow up on the rumors that Shali had told him about regarding the master of the soul stones. But something had kept him in the jungle for a little while longer. The Outlands of Kyon were a long distance away and he'd used up quite a bit of his energy and strength just to get to Kyon where he'd ran into Shali Demitrius. Perhaps it wasn't so foolish of him to stay in the jungle a few more days, get his strength back before he headed off on another wild adventure that could possibly end in disappointment.
Moving through the undergrowth of the jungle, Reeves knew this area like the back of his paw. He'd grown up in this jungle and had grown up in Naxorus. Every day Naxorus was getting bigger and while Reeves wished dearly to return to the city and join his brother Magnus, perhaps help him rule the city. But of course, he first had to figure out what was going on with his soul stone powers. The only power he had right now was the ability to add a color to his pelt but even that he rarely used because he couldn't control it.
But Reeves forced himself to push those thoughts aside. He needed to focus on the task at hand and that was to get his strength back so he could make the long journey to Kyon. A meal would be nice. Strolling through the jungle, his muscles automatically jumped over a fallen tree and twisted past some shrubs like he could walk the path with his eyes closed.
It wasn't long until the scent of another feline reached his nose. Pausing for a moment, he realized the scent was unfamiliar but not just because he didn't know the cat. It was also unfamiliar as if the cat was from a different region of the world for it carried a scent he'd never came across before.
Curious as always, Reeves followed the scent until he caught sight of a cheetah. Rounded ears perking up, he stepped out into the open, not wanting to appear as if he was sneaking up on the male. "Hello there, pardon my forwardness but are you new to these parts?" He asked, hoping the cheetah wouldn't get defensive at his straight forward question, though he couldn't really blame him if he did.
Vino calmed himself, focused his ears on the noises of the wilderness, on the noises of crunching twigs, a fast heartbeat, blood pumping through veins, sounds of life. He didn't expect to hear something so clear and soon though. He wasn't sure if he heard the male approaching or smelled him first but the figure of the lion that came into the cheetah's view was no surprise. Vino was...inexperienced with lions so to speak, he had lived in a clan of only his kind so dealing with other species was new and unfamiliar with him. It put him on edge. The male felt his pelt bristle, half on instinct half because of his wariness of strangers.
"Hello there, pardon my forwardness but are you new to these parts?" The stranger seemed friendly enough, nothing in his voice gave way to hostility and he sounded almost genuinely curious, yet, that could be suspicious in it's own right. Vino's eyes narrowed, he would not start anything unprovoked but he would keep his guard up nonetheless. "Greetings lion." Vino spoke, keeping his voice neutral, he wasn't above being polite but he was curious why the stranger wanted to know if he was new to here, was the cheetah being that obvious? He supposes it wouldnt hurt to indulge the other.
"I am indeed new to this area, I take it you are a native?" Maybe he would be able to get some information out of the stranger, while it was a means his current state wouldn't last, Hyro needed a stable environment and home, maybe this lion could point them in the right direction. "What is your name stranger?"

Reeves could tell that the cheetah was a bit unsure of his presence and he realized that his question probably didn't help put his mind at ease but curiousity always seemed to get the best of Reeves. Greetings lion. The cheetah was polite enough in his words and Reeves was glad for that. He knew that his own friendliness made him think that every other cat he came into contact with would be just as friendly as he was when that didn't always end up being the case.
I am indeed new to this area, I take it you are a native? Reeves smiled and took a small step forward but stopped so he could still give the male some space. "I am. I've lived here my whole life." He answered with a soft smile. "I've been traveling around the jungle for awhile, hadn't seen anyone like you out here before." He answered, hoping that he wasn't being rude with his words. Reeves could be a bit naive at times and his words didn't always mean the things he wanted them to mean.
What is your name stranger? Realizing that he hadn't even introduced himself yet, Reeves jumped to his paws a bit. "Oh I'm so sorry, my name is Reeves Katsaros." He replied, not insisting on the male's name in case it wasn't something he wanted to share with a stranger. After all, it was clear this cat didn't come from around here and it was hard to say what the customs of others were.
Vino felt himself relax slightly, so far the other creature's actions had not alarmed him, nor was he giving off any malicious intentions. Perhaps the lions in this land where all just naturally friendly and good spirited. But then again that was also highly unlikely, maybe the cheetah just got lucky this time around with his acquaintances. The white lion took a step closer, it made a minuscule difference in their space so Vino took it as a gesture of friendliness, so they could both have a more private conversation. The cheetah also stepped slightly closer, to a more conversational distance. I've been traveling around the jungle for awhile, hadn't seen anyone like you out here before." Vino smiled slightly, the other had a naive quality about his words, but it wasn't off putting, if anything it reminded Vino of Hyro and how he humors his son sometimes. It wouldn't hurt to do the same to this stranger. "The jungle is disagreeable to my kind, speed is our forte, we like to hunt in wide open spaces where the wind is harsh on our coats but the payoff is delicious. We are not well suited to stalking about around these walls called trees, but I suppose one must learn to adjust." Just thinking about it sent the cheetah's heart racing, it's been to long since he's had a good run.
"Oh I'm so sorry, my name is Reeves Katsaros." The cheetah nods in acknowledgement, "Vino." He replies simply but after a moment continues with a larger thought. "You mention you've been traveling around the jungle but how familiar are you with the city of Naxorus? Are they accepting of new comers?"

Reeves smiled a bit more when the cheetah stepped a little closer as well, making it easier for them to speak at a closer range versus shouting across the jungle. The jungle is disagreeable to my kind, speed is our forte, we like to hunt in wide open spaces where the wind is harsh on our coats but the payoff is delicious. We are not well suited to stalking about around these walls called trees, but I suppose one must learn to adjust. Reeves nodded in agreement, he'd seen cheetahs in Naxorus and such before but never out in the jungle. They seemed to either like the city life or they lived far away, probably where ever this one had come from.
"Yes of course, there are cheetahs who live in Naxorus but I don't think I've ever seen one out in the jungle." He offered, wondering just how familiar this cat was with his surroundings. Vino. You mention you've been traveling around the jungle but how familiar are you with the city of Naxorus? Are they accepting of new comers? Reeves' rounded ears perked up when the cheetah spoke of Naxorus and he nodded happily at his words. "I grew up in Naxorus. My brother Magnus is the king currently." He explained, sitting down and tilting his head to the side a bit. "They take quite well to new comers, my brother is very welcoming. I could speak with him on your behalf if you'd like?" He offered, a smile spreading across his face.
"He could help get you a place to stay and I could show you around Naxorus." He added, wondering if he was overstepping a little by offering such a thing.
"I grew up in Naxorus. My brother Magnus is the king currently." Vino was not one to be caught off guard easily, but he couldn't deny Reeves' statement had surprised him. After all what where the chances of meeting someone of royal blood so haphazardly, yet this one was quite far from the palace. The cheetah didn't pry, he's sure the lion had his reasons. Yet, it seemed formalities where over due, Vino dipped his head ever so slightly in a polite bow. "Forgive any discrepancies of mine, I was not aware you where of royal lineage." Of course there was also the possibility the white lion was lying, but something told the Cheetah he was being genuine. This was proving to be quite the interesting encounter indeed. At seeing the other sit down Vino followed suit, tail impelling to cover his paws.
"They take quite well to new comers, my brother is very welcoming. I could speak with him on your behalf if you'd like?" "He could help get you a place to stay and I could show you around Naxorus." Vino was faced with a rare and generous opportunity, he would be a fool to turn it down. Plus, he had been meaning to move into the city, Hyro needed to be around cubs his age, and he was almost old enough to begin his education. "That is a very generous offer although I should warn you, I do not travel alone. I have a cub, Hyro, who would also be coming with me. However, if the city would be able to accommodate us both I will forever be in your debt."
Vino was not one to reveal his cub easily, he was aware it was a weakness that could be exploited easily, but despite himself he found he was able to put slight trust in the lion. His gut was telling him no harm would come to him or his son.

Forgive any discrepancies of mine, I was not aware you where of royal lineage. Reeves chuckled a bit at Vino's words, shaking his head quite a few times. "Oh no, you're fine. I don't really think of myself as royal anyways." He answered, shrugging a bit when he was finished. He knew that he technically was just as entitled to rule Naxorus as his brother Magnus but he didn't think of himself in that way. Oh no, he was the oddball of his siblings. Magnus was the noble ruler, Cadoc was the dark trouble maker and Seda was the caring sister. He didn't really seem to fit in with all of them as well. He was the goofy one who never took life too seriously. He was kind to anyone he met and never liked to make waves or cause problems. Sure he was a good explorer and got along with pretty much everyone but he didn't seem to fit the royal tag.
That is a very generous offer although I should warn you, I do not travel alone. I have a cub, Hyro, who would also be coming with me. However, if the city would be able to accommodate us both I will forever be in your debt. Reeves felt his smile grow at the mention of a cub. He had always loved cubs, probably because he still acted like a cub himself. "Oh don't worry, a cub would be no trouble at all!" He assured him, nodding as well. "The royal palace also has a fine education program for the cubs of the city. Depending on how old yours is of course." Reeves added, realizing he was probably talking to much and trying to stop at least for a minute.
Humble royalty? That was a first, yet, it suited Reeves, his image of a playful and friendly do-gooder would be off balanced with a crown on his head. It seemed he was the younger sibling though, that Vino could understand, competition between brothers. Even though his own died young the cheetah knows its a fight for survival the minute you leave the womb. He could only imagine the tug of war royals deal with to inherit a throne. The lion seemed to brighten at Vino mentioning his son, which the cheetah liked, he enjoyed the company of those that liked cubs. Too many creatures have a distaste for them which has been known to set Vino's blood boiling, maybe it takes a parent to understand.
Oh don't worry, a cub would be no trouble at all!" "The royal palace also has a fine education program for the cubs of the city. Depending on how old yours is of course." "That's good to hear, he's young, 5 months, he would not take up much space." The cheetah quite liked Reeves' enthusiasm, it fueled his own as well. His proud dad instincts kicked in and he couldn't help but gush about his son. "Hyro is incredibly smart for his age, he's also begun to learn to stalk, granted his stance needs some honing but i'm sure he will grow to be a great hunter." Now it was Vino's turn to feel like he's talking to much, but he can't help it, once you get him going about his son there's no end to his pride and praise.

Even though Reeves was technically a jungler and didn't really live in the city of Naxorus he knew he could come and go as he pleased, especially since his brother was in charge and Reeves wasn't about to go around causing trouble for anyone. That's good to hear, he's young, 5 months, he would not take up much space. Reeves nodded, trying to hold back his excitement at the thought of a cub to interact with. He'd spent a lot of his time over the past year or so focusing on serious issues like how he was going to get his powers under control so it was always a nice relief to be able to let loose and have fun like he use to do.
"He's almost school age, that will be perfect! Give you both some time to settle in before he can start schooling." Reeves replied, smile still on his face as he forced himself to sit still even though the excitement was getting to him a bit. Hyro is incredibly smart for his age, he's also begun to learn to stalk, granted his stance needs some honing but i'm sure he will grow to be a great hunter. Reeves nodded happily in reply. "Sounds like he'll do wonderfully!" Reeves answered, smiling at the father and briefly thinking back to his own father.
He wouldn't let himself linger on those thoughts for very long though, quickly focusing on Vino once more to keep his mind from lingering into those dark times. "What about you? Any ideas for what you'd like to do in the city?" He asked, tilting his head to the side a bit as he waited, ready to offer up some suggestions for Vino as well. He loved helping others get settled and this was no different. Even if he didn't feel as royal as his siblings, he still wanted the citizens of Naxorus to love the city they lived in and be happy.
"He's almost school age, that will be perfect! Give you both some time to settle in before he can start schooling." They where conversing as if Vino was already a citizen on Naxorus and while it's what Vino is hoping for, he doesn't want to be disappointed and reminds himself to try to not get too lost in the fantasy while nothing is set in stone. After all there is no guarantee things will work out, either way, Vino will continue on, find other means if he must. Never doubt a parent with mouths to feed as they will travel to the ends of the earth for food if need be.
Reeves' joy was shown on his expression and Vino felt slightly bad for doubting him, but that was just the way the cheetah was, he finds it hard to rely on others, especially when it comes to the well being of those he cares about. The lion seemed to get distracted for a fraction of a second before zoning back onto Vino, the cheetah briefly wondered what the other had thought about.
"What about you? Any ideas for what you'd like to do in the city?" The lion asked him while tilting his head curiously. Vino let himself think about it a moment, tail moving unconsciously as he sorted through the possibilities. "I admit I am not too familiar with what roles would be available in the city, but I suppose I would go with what is needed of me. Perhaps I may be a guard, or a scout, a messenger even." Vino let out a humorous purr. "I do not know how suited I would be in the army, as I easily admit I am not as strong as my counterparts." The last bit, he gestured towards Reeves with his head, referring to lions in general than him specifically.
"And what of you? Have you ever given thought to return to Naxorus? I assume the palace is more accommodating than here." The cheetah didn't wish to pry, so he set his tone in a way that implied he was fine with any response, whether it was the truth or not.

Reeves knew he was probably getting a little ahead of himself but he couldn't help it. New cats were always an exciting thing for him, especially if they were planning on joining the city of Naxorus where his family had started off. He knew that Magnus would let Vino and his son in. There didn't seem to be a reason not to as the cat was polite and seemed to only want what was best for his son. That was how a father should act. His mind once again tried to wander to those dark thoughts of his own father who had left his family with no choice but to put an end to him. Either way, he forced his attention to the present since there was no point dwelling on the past. I admit I am not too familiar with what roles would be available in the city, but I suppose I would go with what is needed of me. Perhaps I may be a guard, or a scout, a messenger even.
Reeves sat back down and put a paw to his chin as he thought about the different jobs that would fit a cheetah like Vino. "Hmmm... the city guard could suit you well. You're polite and yet seem as if you could be stern as well." He spoke, thinking out loud as his mind continued to turn over all the different ideas. I do not know how suited I would be in the army, as I easily admit I am not as strong as my counterparts. Reeves chuckled a bit and shrugged as well when the cheetah spoke of his strength versus Reeves. "I don't know, you'd be surprised. We've got cats smaller than you in the army and there's even an ocelot on the city guard!" He replied, raising his brows and smiling a bit.
And what of you? Have you ever given thought to return to Naxorus? I assume the palace is more accommodating than here. Reeves smiled and chuckled a bit before nodding in agreement. He did want to return to Naxorus at some point but his soul stone abilities weren't as under control as he would have liked. He'd been foolish enough to believe that there was a master of soul stones somewhere in the world only to find out it was all just gossip. Now he was back to square one though he was feeling a bit more confident in himself. Maybe he didn't need someone else to teach him how to manage his abilities. Maybe he could do it on his own.
"I do plan to return soon. Just have a few things to take care of before I join my brother. I'm working on my soul stone abilities.. Trying to get a handle on them that is." He confessed, glancing down a bit in embarrassment before shuffling his paw on the ground in front of him.
"Hmmm... the city guard could suit you well. You're polite and yet seem as if you could be stern as well." Vino nodded, a guard would make the most sense fro him, although he heard they worked in pairs and the cheetah wasn't one to rely on others, it would be hard for him to trust his partner. "I don't know, you'd be surprised. We've got cats smaller than you in the army and there's even an ocelot on the city guard!" At that Vino couldn't stop a short laugh, an ocelot? How would such a tiny thing keep the city safe? At that Vino remembered the soul stones, powerful things they where. Vino kept his hidden strapped tight to the underside of his paw, he had only ventured to get one after hearing of their wondrous capabilities, but so far he has had no luck with using it. Perhaps with a strong enough stone, not even size could hold someone back. It was slightly worrisome, that such power could be used for evil. "I do plan to return soon. Just have a few things to take care of before I join my brother. I'm working on my soul stone abilities.. Trying to get a handle on them that is." Vino gave a nod and a contemplative hmm, readjusting his position idly. "Yes, I have heard a great deal about these stones, they hold tremendous power." The lion looked embarrassed at his last statement, but there was nothing to be ashamed about, Vino knew well the struggle of learning new abilities. "It will come in time, such as all things do. If you have nothing but good in your heart I have no doubt you will succeed. " Vino replied, he wasn't a master of stones but he knew a little about life and offered what he could. He hopes they will both be able to find their own paths, Vino paving a future for his son and Reeves mastering his abilities.

Reeves had lived in the city for quite awhile and even recently when he spent most of his time in the jungle, he still frequented the city. He'd kept himself away for far too long, thinking that his out of control powers would hurt those he loved but it wasn't until he found out the master of the soul stones he'd been looking for wasn't real that he realized being with his family might be the best place for him to be right now. He still wasn't sure how to handle his powers, especially as he gained new ones but he figured being around his family would help him understand them. His mother and sister were both great teachers of the soul stones. Perhaps they could help him after all.
"You laugh but she's one of the best guards in the city! With the help of her tiger partner, she's pretty clever, even for being so small." He answered, a smile on his face since he remembered hiding back a laugh when he'd first heard how good she was. Yes, I have heard a great deal about these stones, they hold tremendous power. Reeves nodded in reply, his paw absent mindedly going to touch his own stone that dangled around his neck. He planned to get it mounted in a piece of jewelry so there was a less chance of him losing it but that would have to wait until he was back in the city.
"That they do. Both helpful and dangerous powers." He explained, his face becoming a bit more serious as he thought of his own soul stone struggles, his mother using her powers to heal and her father, using his powers for darkness. It will come in time, such as all things do. If you have nothing but good in your heart I have no doubt you will succeed. Reeves couldn't help but forget his troublesome thoughts and smile when the cheetah complimented him. "Thank you, your words mean a lot." He answered, clearing his throat after he realized he should probably focus on the task at hand now. "Would you like to head to the city now or did you want to wait?" Reeves questioned, rising to his paws and looking quizzically at the cheetah.
Vino's eyes darted towards the stone dangling on the lions neck, a blue color but not like his own, Reeves' was richer and lighter signaling it's higher level and therefore higher power. Normally Vino would be wary of that, of a being stronger that him who would be able to beat him in battle, but the lion's earlier confession of not fully controlling his powers put the cheetah at somewhat of an ease. Even though he knew the other would cause him no harm regardless, still the thought persists because Vino is inherently a suspicious cat.
"That they do. Both helpful and dangerous powers." Vino nodded, glad Reeves shared his sentiment. It let him know the other understood what capabilities the stones had and that they could as easily be used to hurt someone as they could to heal.
"Thank you, your words mean a lot." "Would you like to head to the city now or did you want to wait?
Vino thought about it for a moment, he had no other plans for the morning besides catching him and Hyro breakfast but that would be relatively easy if they eat light and then a bigger meal in the city. Perhaps it would be the best decision to head to the city now. "If it is of no inconvenience to you I would be able to go now, however perhaps it is best if we meet up there? That way I may fetch my son and catch him a snack before heading over."
