nowhere to call home (kilani)

The night felt darker than it really was. Clouds were covering the sky and blocked out any form of light that the moon or stars could produce. Asra wasn't sure where to go but all she knew was that she had to get someplace safe for the night. Picking up her pace, she ducked through the undergrowth looking for the one place she thought she might be able to find her way to. Ektos Cavern.

Her and her sister Isra had made it their on their own when they'd ran away from their old home after watching their father kill their mother while the two of them remained hidden in a bush nearby. They remembered Tejas and their mother having soul stones and they wanted one of their own. Asra was hoping that now she would be able to find shelter there for the night until she could figure out what to do about her now missing sister and her own lost state.

It seemed like she'd been walking forever and the sounds of the night did nothing to comfort her. Her eyes were wide and her head was constantly jerking back and forth, hoping she'd make it before something bigger and hungry found her. Finally she caught sight of a glow in the distance. Squinting her eyes, she could see that it was coming from the entrance to the Ektos Cavern, the one place she knew of. 

Picking up her pace, she tripped and almost fell in her rush to get to the mouth of the cavern. When she did finally reach it, she went towards the back of it before finally relaxing a bit. She was safe. She had heard stories about how the Ektos Cavern was a safe place for all who visited. Cuddling into a ball, she felt her muscles ache a bit now. She was thankful that the cavern glowed with the dim lights of the soul stones that grew from the walls. Her pale golden eyes scanned the cavern for a moment, surprised that so many hadn't claimed stones of their own yet.
