APPEARANCE

Alue is noticeably different than the average snow leopard that wanders the street. It is as if some higher power knew exactly what she was going to become in life and modeled her best to compliment her career as a thief. The base colour of her coat is storm grey, a much darker shade than normal for a snow leopard. In fact, her whole coat seems to have been muted to better allow her to blend into shadows. As a still relatively young snow leopard, Alue still has a lot of growing up to do. For now, her stature is small and compact (as her breed tends to be) granting her an advantage of fitting into small spaces. Her eyes are a bright green colour, the only real colour among her rather mute pallet.   

SOUL STONE

Alue has a first stage Soul Stone. A glowing dark blue Pente stone that grants her the ability of enhanced strength and immunity to most diseases. 

PERSONALITY

Alue is very enigmatic cat on the surface. She would be a ghost story in the city if it were not for her wanted posters taking up every available surface, labeling her the "Soul Stealer". She lies in wait in the darkest corners of the city and a rare few know how to get in contact with her if someone is need of her. Added to her mysterious background and lack of any family or friends, Alue is a very difficult cat to predict and understand. Perhaps that is for the best, such a dangerous character would only cause trouble to those close to her. 

Alue's core trait is her independence. Having crawled out of the very murky depths bowels of the jungle as a cub, Alue learned to trust her instincts and rely only on herself at a young age. Her self-reliant philosophy is the one thing that has kept her alive all these years. She makes a habit of being extremely introverted, as a result, her emotional strength is nothing to scoff at. Alue always strives for things she wants and can be quite the force to be reckoned with when she puts her mind to something.

As a snow leopard, Alue naturally enjoys solitude and keeps a very small circle of friends and acquaintances. She sometimes goes whole days without interacting with another living being and is quite content to spend the rest of her life alone if given the chance. Alue is very centered in knowing who she is and her place in the world. It is very rare for her to be swayed by another's opinion and never cares for what others think. Alue prefers to not meddle in others business and is content to do her own thing without getting involve in other's drama. Her interests in a situation only extends to getting paid for a job, rather than why she was asked to do her job.

Alue applies her natural hunting instincts to her job. She is endlessly patient but also very cunning when it comes to solving a problem. She knows how to approach situation from a variety of angles and can execute a plan with deadly efficiency. Alue finds it incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to ask for help.

Alue is very protective of her privacy and can be down right vicious when someone intrudes on her contract job clienteles or her home. On a normal day, Alue is highly disciplined and takes immense pride in her work. But its her greed that gets her into trouble. As a thief, shiny things catch her eye and she just can't resist but recklessly take chances. She fully believes that if she can take something, she deserves to have it. Alue is always watching for opportunities and takes advantage of them. She considers her goals above all else (even the lives of others) causing her to have very few personal attachments. Alue is incapable of being content with what she has. It just isn't enough.

HISTORY

Alue has never known an easy life. Even her earliest memories were of her struggles on the merciless, darkest depths of the jungle. She has no memories of her parents or any other family she may have, so she assumes that she was abandoned at birth. To this day, Alue has no idea how she ended up in the jungle with nothing but the dark blue stone tied crudely around her neck. 

Alue survived her childhood barely by the skin of her teeth. It was only by a combination of wits, luck, and the power of her soul stone that she survived the experience. The jungle was no place for a month-old snow leopard and she had to fight for her life every single day. Eventually, the young, starving snow leopard stumbled across the city of Naxorus. Alue was completely in awe of the massive city and could only marvel at the seemingly endless crowd of cats wandering around the city. Following the flow of the crowd, Alue eventually found herself wandering into the Erebos Agora sector of the city. After spending several weeks surviving off scraps and sleeping in dangerous alleyways, Alue caught the attention of a lioness named Umei. To be more specific, Umei stepped on the hidden, small body of Alue while strolling through an alley. Umei nearly had a heart attack when a filthy, malnourished cub launched out of the darkness with a pathetic yowl of attack. Despite the less than stellar first impression, Umei was quickly taken with the spirited Alue and wasted no time adopting her. Alue was viciously stubborn at first, but couldn't ignore the lure of warm food and safe place to sleep. The relationship between the two was always rocky and riddled with arguments but Umei truly cared for Alue as if she were her own daughter. As Alue grew older, Umei began to teacher her a variety of crafts she had learned over the years. Alue quickly mastered most of Umei's lessons, but none caught her interest quite like stealing. She became addicted to the feeling of creeping around at night and robbing expensive artifacts right out from under the noses of the careless rich population of the city. The thrill of power she felt every time she got away with a burglary was soon the only thing she lived for. Umei was not impressed by her adopted daughter's new career and tried to persuade Alue to join the entertainment business instead. Alue reluctantly agreed to at least give the profession a try before condemning herself to being a criminal for the rest of her life.   

It was her sens of duty to Umei that pushed Alue to taking the stage along with her adopted mother. The performance was significantly easier with Umei at her side and Alue found herself actually enjoying preforming in front of others. The two of them left the stage, flush with victory and grinning at each other roguishly. Umie gave her daughter a heart-felt speech and encouraged to continue preforming at the brothel instead of getting herself killed as a thief. Alue had to admit, working as an entertainer sounded much more secure than being a thief. Ever the cautious one, she agreed to keep working at the brothel for another week before she made up her mind. Umei encouraged her to take her time making up her mind, she was still young after all, before wandering off to meet with her usual clients. Just as Alue was about to go retreat back to the safety of her room, she was approached by a City Guard. The tiger offered her money if he could rent her out for the night. At first Alue was reluctant to accept his offer, but she knew for a fact that Umei did this sort of thing every night. How hard could it be? Everything was going as expected until the guard forcibly removed Alue's Soul Stone, stating that "she wouldn't be needing it". The guard expected that she would react submissively now that her stone was removed, but Alue surprised him by instantly attacking back. Taken by surprise, Alue overpowered the guard and removed both his and her Soul Stone from him. With the tables turned, a panicked and vengeful Alue knocked out the guard and fled the scene. She ran for what seemed like hours before finally coming to a stop on an unfamiliar street. Alue managed to stop shaking long enough to replace her Soul Stone around her neck and dumped the guard's Soul Stone as soon as she could. Alue knew she couldn't return to the brothel after that. She had committed a great taboo by stealing another cat's Soul Stone but she couldn't find it in herself to be repentant. In fact, Alue felt strangely elated. It was a very similar feeling to the first time she pulled off a successful heist. She stayed in hiding for a week and by the time she resurfaced, wanted poster had been put up all over the city with her face on them and calling her "The Soul Stealer". 

From then on, Alue dedicated herself to life of thievery. Within a year she had elevated herself to one of the most well known thieves in the whole city. She stole indiscriminately and was known for taking on the most impossible of contracts. All that mattered to her was that she didn't starve in the street. Alue was a ghost story even among other thieves. Cats wondered if she even existed if it wasn't for the expensive artifacts that went missing frequently around the city without a trace of the perpetrator. She was at the top of her game and considered herself to be the best thief in the whole city. Nothing could bring her down.     

That was, until the city guard took Umei into their custody. Alue instantly panicked. She hadn't seen or talked to her adopted mother in well over a year but she still felt a sense of love and loyalty to her. But saving Umei would mean giving herself up, which just wasn't an option. The guard's were smart, they kept Umei under tight security, a security that not even Alue could penetrate. Stealing objects and even Soul Stones was completely different than stealing lioness out of the most heavily guarded building in the whole city. 

Eventually Alue decided to bite the bullet and make a rescue attempt to save Umei. The plan was going rather smoothly until she entered the room where her adopted mother was being held. A member of the royal guard was waiting for her. The royal guard quickly overpowered Alue and threatened to kill Umei if she did not comply with his terms. His terms were that she returned all the Soul Stones that she had ever stolen and she started working as a thief for the royal guard. Alue laughed at his conditions and straight up told him that she would rather die. Taking her words as encouragement, the royal guard used his fire elemental powers (as provided by his Soul Stone) to set blaze to Umei. The lioness suffered a painful death and Alue could do nothing but sit by and watch the only family she had ever known go up in smoke right before her eyes. Her emotional distress over Umei's death triggered her Soul Stone powers, allowing her to turn on the royal guard and steal his Soul Stone. Alue snagged the singed Soul Stone from her mother's remains before bolting back into the darkness of the city.

She returned to the brothel that her mother had worked at and brought back Umei's soul stone to a cheetah named Callaminta. Alue explained what happened to Callaminta before turning her back and returning to her thief hideout. Now Alue has developed a particular hatred for the guards of the city and makes it her personal duty to steal each and every one of their Soul Stones so they can never hurt anyone with their powers again.
