APPEARANCE

Nymeria is a fine specimen. Her coat is a mixture of browns, blacks, greys and creams. She has an athletic build with large ears and a large head. Her paws are also quite large and she's a good sized female thanks to her species. She has long, strong legs that make her quick on her feet. She also has a pair of gorgeous green eyes that almost seem to match the color of the grass in the spring.

PERSONALITY

Nymeria has been through a lot in her life and that has changed her to who she is today. When she was young she was so carefree, wild and adventuring. She never thought about what could happen because of her actions and that thought process was what ended up permanently mutilating her brother thanks to an adventure gone wrong. Now she has lost some of her wild and free spirit and is calmer and more professional and straight forward. She hides her emotions as if her life depended on it. It is very rare that anyone would see her cry.

Anger on the other hand is an emotion that she has shown when needed. She likes her pack to be run the way she says and she's had to rule with a firm paw in order to keep those that don't believe in her at bay. It seems as if she is trying to earn her pack's respect day in and day out because she's the first female alpha and because there are those that still think her brother should be the alpha.

Overall, her personality is caring though. She gets along well with those that aren't looking to cause trouble. She doesn't handle trouble in her pack well though and it's hard to get away with things. She secretly hates felines because of what happened to her brother but she knows as an alpha she must work with the felines to keep her pack safe so she keeps her dislike of them to herself and tries to push for acceptance of both canines and felines alike.

HISTORY

Nymeria was born to her mother and father when the family lived in Kyon. Her father was the alpha of the Kyon canine pack after her grandfather Midas Valantis had passed away and left the rule to his first born son. Titan, her father, was a fair and just ruler. He took care of his family as well as the whole pack which he always treated like an extension of his family. Nymeria wasn't the only pup in her litter though. She was born along with a sister and a brother. Her sister was always the bubbly and easy going one, a pup at heart it seemed. Her brother was the one she looked up to almost as much as her father. He was brave and handsome and picked up on all of the lessons their father and mother taught them. He was going to make a great alpha one day since the alpha position was passed on from father to eldest son.

As the pups were growing, they became quite adventurous. They were always running off when they weren't suppose to and getting themselves into trouble. Maddock would try to stop the adventurous Nymeria from venturing off with Talulla in tow but Nymeria was a stubborn thing and there was no changing her mind once she decided something. So Maddock would go with them to make sure they were safe, even if it ended up getting him in trouble later as well. 

One day, they were off on one of their adventures when they came across a rouge group of felines. Nymeria and her siblings hadn't realized that they'd ventured so close to the border and these large cats didn't seem bothered by the fact that they had crossed over into Kyon territory. The cats were just looking for an easy meal and three pups out on their own was definitely the definition of that. Licking their lips, they circled the three siblings before attacking. Maddock tried his best to protect his sisters and he was able to fend off the felines just long enough for a nearby canine patrol to catch wind of the cats and the pups. 

The patrol came to their rescue and chased the rogue cats off of Kyon lands before taking the barely touched Nymeria and Talulla home while carrying Maddock back. Their brother had been hurt badly in his attempts to save his sisters. One of his hind legs had been mangled by the attack and would leave him with a bad limp for the rest of his life. He'd also carry around the scars of the attack forever as well. It took Maddock months to recover and even after that it was a slow process. He had to learn to walk again, he'd been hit on the head so hard that he would commonly  lose his train of thought or forget what he was saying or doing. It was a frustrating recovery for her brother and the whole time, Nymeria blamed herself. If she hadn't decided to go out adventuring that day then Maddock would be just fine.

But it was too late to turn back the clock now and the whole experience definitely mellowed Nymeria out and took away a fair bit of her spirit. It didn't get worse until Titan, their father, decided that Maddock wouldn't be able to be the alpha anymore. Not in his condition. He couldn't fight, couldn't hunt and struggled keeping track of what he was doing on a day to day basis. Heartbroken, Maddock felt like he had nothing left to live for. Nymeria was named alpha in his place and she couldn't even be happy about the promotion. Not when it was all that her brother had wanted and deserved and she'd taken it away from him, even if it had been accidentally.

Nymeria couldn't let her family down though and it was obvious that Talulla didn't have what it took to lead the pack so she accepted and stepped up into her new position. She became much more serious in this time and while there are rare occasions where her goofy old personality comes out, she's usually business all the time. It wasn't long before their mother died of old age and their father didn't last much longer without her. She had been his one true love and without her he was lost. With the passing of both their parents, Nymeria and Maddock's relationship seemed to get worse. He, of course, blamed her for what had happened to him and would make snide comments about it more times than not. He became very bitter and though Nymeria tried to come to terms with him, he wanted no part in it. He didn't have to play nice now that their parents were gone.

There were those in the pack that were also not fond of Nymeria as alpha. They believed that Maddock deserved the position and also blamed Nymeria for his accident. Plus the fact that she was the first female alpha in three generations made it even harder for some to accept. It was at this time that Nymeria had to choose a new beta because her current one had stepped down due to old age. He had been friends with her father but couldn't fulfill his duties anymore. That was when Venrir had approached her, wanting to take the alpha position for her. It was suppose to be a fight between them but they instead spoke of the responsibility the position took and Venrir quickly gave up her desire for it. 

Instead, Venrir wished to take the beta position and not having many close friends in the pack, Nymeria accepted her offer and the two of them have been ruling ever since. It's definitely been a struggle for the she wolf as she has to overcome obstacles every day. But she wishes to make her father proud and hopes to one day make it up to Maddock and fix their relationship even if that thought could be a lost cause.
