We are an advanced feline and canine rp site that takes place in the lost jungles of Vikos. The life forces of the canines and felines living here are tied to their soul stones. With their soul stone, they are able to grow in power and strength. Without it, they will weaken and die. Many abilities and powers can be acquired from the soul stones. How powerful you get, is up to you though.

FALL - The temperature is starting to fall a bit as it starts to cool off. The sun isn't as hot and the relief from the heat is much needed.

"What kind of moronic healers allow themselves to ever run out of yarrow?!" Fondue lashed his thick tail, already grumpy face becoming grumpier by the second. Yellow eyes swept over the jewel green foliage of the jungle, searching out the precious plant with a vengeance. Though irrational anger ran hot throughout the feline's body, any observer would be hard put to see it over the immense amount of fluff which coated Fondue's stocky body. Only his face seemed to reflect his wrath, but juxtaposed with his inherent marshmallow form it was almost comical.
Fondue's pads hit the ground with as much force as he could muster as he spotted the plant in question and made his way towards it. Clipping the plant at the base neatly with his teeth, he stuffed it into a leather pouch that hung half hidden on his back before proceeding to search for more. "Tch! And of course no apprentice is available to get more! They are all in class learning about how to take a splinter out!" Coming up short he looked at a flower exasperatedly and spoke to it as if it could understand him, "You just pull it out! It's not like they're learning how to reset bone!!" He batted at the flower before moving deeper into the forest.
Continuing to mutter to himself as he walked, Fondue would stop every once in a while to collect more yarrow or some other useful herb before resuming his diatribe.
Talia knew that she shouldn't have agreed to patrol this section of the Vikos Jungle on her own but some of the other guards had been making jabs at her small size again and she had to step up and get them to shut their big, stupid old mouths somehow. Now she was regretting it as she stomped through the jungle, cursing under her breath at the thought of the other guards teasing her. "Oh I'll show them! Those no good, lumbering bastards! They'll regret underestimating me!" She hissed, tail lashing and fangs barely visible as she swatted at a low hanging branch that got in her way.
That was her first mistake. Because as soon as she swatted the rotting branch out of her way, the rest of the dead tree gave a creaking groan before it snapped from the thin bark that had been holding it to the trunk. Gasping, Talia was able to jump out of the way of the worst of it but still ended up getting part of her tail stuck under the branch and landed on her front right paw at an awful angle sending pain shooting up her leg.
Yowling in pain, the little ocelot cursed loudly this time, not trying to hide her fury. Pulling her tail out from under the rotted mass, she lashed out at the tree with her claws extended, slashing through the first layer of bark with her good paw, only to jerk her other paw back as she slashed at it with her injured paw, forgetting it was hurt.
"Stupid tree! What are you good for anyways!? Nothing, that's what! You're good for nothing! Especially all dead and gross and rotted like that! Disgusting waste of space if you ask me! Hurry up and rot into the ground already!" She hissed before taking a breath and glancing behind her to see a Pallas Cat had stumbled upon her display.
Fondue hissed through his teeth as he suddenly looked around and realized how far he'd traveled. Turning on a dime he started making his way back to the temple and felt some of his anger ebb away. Even if the rest of the healers were too "busy" to collect the herbs, it was nice to get outside and walk around. This way he could think about the garden he was planning free from any distractions. Mulling over it, Fons' ears perked up slightly. Tired of having to constantly wander the jungle whenever he needed something, Fondue had started collecting seeds to plant in the spring.
The sight of a clump of aloe made the remaining bulk of Fons' anger slide away and he hurried over to it excitedly. Delicately sniffing the succulent Fondue purred in satisfaction and began to paw at the dirt. Teasing away three of the smaller plants he put them carefully on the other pouch before continuing on his way in a considerably better mood. Trotting down the path like a fluffy jellybean Fondue almost started to hum.
Almost happy Fons wasn't really paying attention to where he was going. Walking into a small clearing the male arrived just in time to observe a particularly stupid female do a particularly stupid thing. The clearly rotting branch exacted its revenge upon the idiot ocelot by falling upon her tail and paw. The female swore colorfully and Fondue raised a brow at her language, tsking under his breath he made his way over to her. "Hmph." Sitting down a few feet away from the feline he appraised her like some sort of fluffy, judgmental potato. "Need a paw?" His voice was grouchy and sounded as if the very last thing he wanted to do was help.
Shrugging off the pack on his back he rummaged through it and pulled out a few herbs. As he looked back up at the ocelot he grudgingly realized that he should give the female some sort of explanation. "I'm a healer at Lucis Temple. We take an oath to heal even the fustilarians who get in arguments with branches."
Talia had successfully pulled her tail out from under the rotted mess of a tree and had taken a step or two away from the scene of the accident before she lifted her hurt front paw and licked it a bit as if that would make the throbbing in it stop. Her tail was another story though she knew it wasn't broken because she hissed under her breath when she tried to move it and the tip flicked though not without pain. Gritting her teeth against the pain, she let it lay flat again, trying not to move a muscle in it to keep it from hurting. It was then she noticed that she wasn't alone anymore.
Hmph. Need a paw? The ocelot wasn't sure what to think of this Pallas cat as he grudgingly sat down a few feet away from her and began to rummage through a bag he was carrying. Talia wasn't use to others being friendly in the jungle. Usually the jungle, and junglers in particular, were more worried about themselves than helping others they came across. I'm a healer at Lucis Temple. We take an oath to heal even the fustilarians who get in arguments with branches.
When he explained himself she relaxed a bit, hoping this wasn't some kind of trick but having little other choice than to trust him. Her front paw was still throbbing like mad and her tail was doing the same though she was still trying to keep from moving it. "Hey! Those bastard guards started it and the tree deserved what it got." She grumbled before trailing off and looking away, a less than pleased expression on her face. Though she realized that her words probably meant little to a Lucis Temple cat. He wouldn't understand the crap she had to go through every day with the other guards just because she was smaller than the rest of them.
Looking over the injured ocelot with shrewd yellow eyes Fondue chuffed to himself. Although she had brought the tree down on herself, Fons was rather impressed at the ocelot's reflexes. At most she may have fractured something, but he doubted it. The ground was soft and there had been enough warning for her to get out of the way quickly. Pulling out a sanitary cloth he carefully wiped away the dirt from his claws so as not to potentially infect anything.
Fondue's rounded ears flicked to catch the ocelot's wrathful words and he grinned slyly, "Let me guess, big, bad lion guards putting you up to jungle patrol?" He huffed and rolled his eyes at the thought of the self entitled felines, "It's like they don't even know how to get their paws dirty! Lazy ass maggots!" Holding out a paw he gestured to the spotted cat to let him get a closer look at the injured appendages. "My name's Fondue by the way."
If she allowed him, Fons would examine first her paw then her tail gently which was completely at odd with his grumpy mannerism. As he checked her over he couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right. He would then double check everything until it finally hit him. Her paw wasn't the size of his face. It had been literally years since he had examined an adult cat roughly his same size and it was actually a rather nice change of pace. "So, I assume you're from Naxorus then?" He didn't really expect her to answer considering that the jungle wasn't exactly the most copesetic place.
While Talia technically hadn't accepted his help due to her ego being too big and too proud, he seemed to not care and was luckily not looking for her to beg before he helped her. That she was secretly grateful because she would insist that she was alright if he made her beg. She didn't need charity from anyone. Or at least she wouldn't admit that she did. Let me guess, big, bad lion guards putting you up to jungle patrol? She huffed a bit in reply to his words and plopped her hind end on the ground with a slight wince at the pain in her tail. "Somethin' like that. I did volunteer for jungle patrol but only because they were saying things about how I'm not good enough to do it or I'm too small. I had to do it, shove it right back in their stupid, fat faces!" She hissed with a wicked grin as she remembered the looks of surprise that had been on their faces when she'd agreed to do jungle patrol on her own.
It's like they don't even know how to get their paws dirty! Lazy ass maggots!"Right!? And they throw a fit when they get jungle patrol but give me shit when I take it for them. Ungrateful sons of bitches." She grumbled, offering up her paw as he extended his own so he could examine her sore appendage. My name's Fondue by the way."I'm Talia Charo." She replied simply, finding that talking to this cat was quite easy. Normally she offended others with her straight forward attitude or her curse words but this Pallas Cat didn't seem at all bothered by her dirty language. That was always refreshing.
Talia was so frazzled and irritated as her mind went back to the other guards that she paid little mind to him as he examined her. She turned her paw over when needed, let him prod at her tail and even moved the tip of her tail and extended her claws to show that nothing seemed to be broken. Usually her patience was short with healers but luckily he seemed to be quick and knew what he was doing. Not to mention, Talia's mind was on other things. So, I assume you're from Naxorus then?"Indeed I am. Smallest cat on the city guard!" She replied, lifting her chin and puffing out her chest as if being small was something to be proud of. To her it was, she was good at her job and she didn't care what others thought of her. "Are you a healer from Naxorus or do you live in the Lucis Temple?" She questioned, her eyes finally looking him over for the first time since they'd met.
The sun shone warmly through the trees lending the somewhat comical scene a fairytail-like quality. Golden dust motes floated along serenely and somewhere a bird was singing a lovely little tune. It was if the universe had prepared a grand stage for the beginning of a love story and it would have been perfect if only the actors were a pair of striking tigers or muscle laden panthers... not a grumpy pallas cat and a foul mouthed ocelot! Nature seemed to lash its tail in frustration, the song bird was out croaked by a raven and an ominous roil of clouds seemed to suddenly appear on the distant horizon.
Oblivious to Nature's temper tantrum, Fondue examined Talia with extreme care, poking this and prodding that gently before coming to his conclusion. Putting away most of the herbs that he had initially pulled out, the feline listened with no little amusement as the ocelot insulted the rest of the city guard. When she mentioned her being the smallest cat on the guard Fondue perked up his ears in admiration. "Good for you! Those overgrown kits could use a lesson or two from a cat like you!" Nodding in satisfaction, Fondue felt his own chest puff out a bit in pride. As long as there were small felines like Talia working hard to show the big bad lions and tigers how things were done, then he sure as hell wasn't going to take any flack from them either!
Examining one of the plants that he had kept out, Fondue carefully pulled off a leaf. Nothing but the best would do for the gem of the City Guard! "Here, this will help ease the pain a little bit. You've simply bruised your paw and tail, but if they still hurt after a day or two talk to a healer." After he pushed the leaf towards Talia he replaced the rest of the plants tenderly in the sack, one ear flicked towards her to catch her next question. "I'm a healer and scholar at Lucis Temple, although I do come into Naxorus occasionally to provide care to those who need it." Grinning wickedly he returned his gaze to Talia, "You'd be amazed how many big, strong tigers get laid low by the common cold and can't even find the strength to get themselves to Lucis." His long fluffy tail flicked side to side, seeming to share in his amusement.
Talia wasn't paying much attention when the Pallas Cat was inspecting her front paw until he prodded her in a place that hurt. She jerked her paw back a bit but gave it back to him until he had finished looking it over. Good for you! Those overgrown kits could use a lesson or two from a cat like you! Tallia couldn't help but smile proudly when the other feline complimented her. It wasn't often that she ran into smaller cats in her line of work and it was nice to find one that felt the same way about the larger cats that she did. "I agree! If I was just a few feet taller, I'd give them an ass whoopin' they'd never forget!" She exclaimed with a satisfied nod.
Once the healer was done examining her, he pulled out a leaf off of a plant from his sack and pushed it towards her. Here, this will help ease the pain a little bit. You've simply bruised your paw and tail, but if they still hurt after a day or two talk to a healer. Talia dipped her head low in thanks as she picked up the leaf in her teeth and began to chew it. She had a long trek back to Naxorus and it wouldn't be a fun trek if she was in pain. Luckily based on what Fondue had said, it didn't sound like she had hurt herself that badly and hopefully wouldn't have to take time off work to heal.
I'm a healer and scholar at Lucis Temple, although I do come into Naxorus occasionally to provide care to those who need it. Talia raised her brows a bit at his answer to her question as she continued to chew on her leaf, swallowing the juices and already feeling them take effect on her sore paw and tender tail. "Well isn't that noble of you." She commented, not at all being sarcastic this time. You'd be amazed how many big, strong tigers get laid low by the common cold and can't even find the strength to get themselves to Lucis. At those words, Talia burst out laughing and shook her head at the thought of a tiger all curled up in bed whimpering because they had the sniffles. "I would love to see that! Such pansies, the lot of them!" She replied with an amused smirk on her face.
