APPEARANCE

Although difficult to tell now at his young age, Hyro will grow up to look very much like his deceased mother. The most notable similarities will be in his face and expressions making anyone who once knew Acacia think that she has been reborn in her son. Of course Vino did contribute some DNA which is apparent in the king cheetah pattern that is expressed in Hyro's fur. Instead of a multitude of smaller spots like most of his species Hyro has larger splotches that join together most prominently into three lines down his back.

SOUL STONE

Hyro wears his midnight colored soul stone on a bracelet made of twisted hemp cord. He'll often switch which paw it's on and has the bad habit of occasionally forgetting to put it back on.

Grants increased strength and resistance to illness.

PERSONALITY

Though still quite young, Hyro already has quite the flamboyant personality. He loves to be the center of attention and tends to cause trouble in order to get there. Goofy and mischievous he loves pulling pranks, but always pulls short of causing any real harm. Perhaps it is a product of his particularly rough childhood, but he seems to think it is his personal job to make other animals smile, especially his da. Empathetic, Hyro has an innate ability to sense when someone is feeling down and is tireless in his efforts to make them feel better in anyway he can.

Trusting to a fault, Hyro is rather naive when it comes to dealing with other creatures and if a stranger offers him candy he thinks it's the best day ever! This combined with his ADHD tends to be a potent combination as he will wander off and find himself in less than savory places. Most attempts to recapture his attention are futile and the only one who he will listen to absolutely is his father.

Hyro idolizes his da and thinks he is the coolest thing since soul stones. He hates disappointing Vino as it makes him feel like he's no longer worthy to be his son and will do everything he can to make it up to him.

HISTORY

Though Hyro's life has just begun the kit has already suffered through a lot. Born to two very loving parents Acacia and Vino, he had all the beginnings of a charmed kittenhood, but that was not to last. Too young to understand death, when his grandmother left for the great plains Hyro spent the majority of the day trying to wake her up. Grandma Senna despised laziness so why was she wasting the morning sleeping?

With the short memory of youth, Hyro was able to overcome what grief he had relatively quickly and devote himself to bringing laughter to the clan. As the days went by he found it harder and harder to bring a smile to even the other cub's faces and he didn't understand why. Sure there wasn't as much food as usual, but it wasn't like the sleeping members of the clan were going to be that way forever.

When Vino made the decision to take his family and leave the clan Hyro was distraught. Without him, who would bring happiness to them? It took the cub great deliberation before he finally approached another kit to take his place. A solemn ceremony of youth preformed in front of the rest of the clan formally transferred the job of laughter-maker and it was with a lighter heart that Hyro set off on the journey with his parents.

Freed from those very serious responsibilities, Hyro thought he deserved to just be a kit again and devoted every waking moment to doing just that (not that there was much difference in his antics before and after). When Acacia started showing signs of the sleepy sickness it came as a shock to little Hyro and he began to question whether anyone had ever waken up after falling asleep for the last time. Her death came as a shock for the cub and he refused to leave her, eventually forcing Vino to bodily pick him up and carry him away into the jungle.
