FALL - The temperature is starting to fall a bit as it starts to cool off. The sun isn't as hot and the relief from the heat is much needed.

"Wheeee!" Tumbling down the street, a very fluffy spotted something burst into Erebos Agora running on top of an out of control barrel. Far behind him onlookers could just barely hear the sounds of someone calling frantically for a feline named Hyro. Totally oblivious, the cub continued on his mad dash deep into the disreputable outskirts of Naxorus. After swerving around multiple corners and avoiding a couple near hits, Hyro's adventure came to a suddenly explosive end when the street he was on came to a sudden dead end.
The barrel burst apart and planks of wood flew several feet into the air before tumbling back down with a clatter. Having leaped off the death ride moments before impact, Hyro nimbly avoided the shrapnel, a devilish grin stretched wide across his face. "Wow! Who knew living in a city could be so fun?!" Tail lashing with excitement Hyro trotted away from the wreckage before hunkering down at the mouth of the alleyway. Dark brown eyes wide they flew from attraction to attraction while his ears flickered madly trying to catch everything that was said.
Although Erebos Agora was undoubtedly one of the most shadiest of places and reeked with the stench of dark magic, the place were Hyro had unwittingly found himself didn't seem that bad. Graceful felines walked the street, some clad in colorful, scintillating fabric while others preformed elaborate tricks. Though his eyes continued to wander incessantly, Hyro found himself lingering on a young male jaguar who seemed to be practicing a tumbling dance. Creeping cautiously closer to the dancer, Hyro became absorbed in the feline's movements and soon found himself sitting in the middle of the road watching him unabashedly.
Focused on what he was doing the jaguar didn't notice the cheetah cub until he finished his last flip and bowed with a flourish to an imaginary audience. Licking a paw he looked disdainfully down at Hyro, "Ach! I tol' Noava tuh keep her litter of tha stree'! It be bad for business!" Baring his teeth at Hyro the disgruntled jaguar snarled at him, "Go on now! Git! Before I eat ya!" Blinking in surprise that someone could be so mean as to eat a kit like him, Hyro whirled about and made as if to dash away down the alley. Unfortunately he didn't get very far as he was sent reeling when he ran straight into someone whose weight far surpassed his own. Gazing up at the other feline he grinned widely "Oops! Sorry about that!" Apparently he had already forgotten about the meanie face jaguar who was still standing only a couple feet away, a look of hunger plastered on his spotted face.
Calla was ignoring her -- it was the only thought that kept circling in her mind, over and over. She didn't understand why. What wasn't there to be happy about? She was beautiful enough, wasn't she? She was charming, sort of. What did Calla not like about her? Nose wrinkling, the tigress sulked in her own little pillowed corner, her chin on her paws, tail flicking this way and that. Even artless, she was beautiful -- a little glimmer of flame in the midst of all this filth and stench. Yet it wasn't enough -- and she couldn't understand why. Her pride was a terrible thing, for one who was so young and so inexperienced, yet she couldn't stop the unsettled feelings rumbling around in her heart. Why not? Grinding her teeth, the white-gold of her eyes flashed like lightning in the dark of her room. She had been welcomed warmly enough -- and now what? Left alone for days. She had food, and water, and a place to sleep that didn't have mud, and she should have been grateful but it wasn't what Odezca wanted. No, she wanted to be close to the female Cheetah. She wanted to help, to do things, to be around her, talk to her, and start their adventure. It was a vapid addiction, but to be denied was enough to set her off.
Tail ticking away like a bomb, the young tigress finally rose from her little nest of pillows, having had enough of the gloom. She didn't have to be here -- there were plenty of nicer, cleaner places she could find. Better places. Funner places. Didn't Calla realize the only reason she was here was because the Cheetah was too? Without her, what was the point of all this? Annoyed and mostly restless, Odezca paced her little room -- was she locked in here like some cage? Was she allowed to leave? No one had told her anything, and she didn't think they would ever warm up to her. The other girls had given her a sideways look and snickered under their breath. They thought her young and stupid. Eyes flashing in anger Dezca whirled around, unsure of how to deal with the feelings that were piling up inside of her when she suddenly heard a crash.
Whipping around, Odezca peered out the window, seeing a barrel explode. Excitement pulsed in her heart, in her head -- all of her past grievances disappearing as curiosity made her run for the door. The feeling of the sun on her back made the last of her mood disappear thoughtlessly. It was a beautiful day. A day for adventure! The rumble of the city vibrated against her, consuming her attention as the hunger for the new and exotic took hold of her. Odezca had only been here for a week, and it still made her heart sing to realize she was in the middle of a fairy tail -- albeit a fairy tail full of mud. Though, she was too caught up in the action, to think too much on how her coat would darken with the touch of such filth. Instead her nose prickled, eyes catching sight of the wooden pieces on the ground, wondering how it had fallen apart so quickly.
Her mouth split open in a childish grin, those bright eyes glowing like the very sun as she trotted forward toward all the noise -- even if she felt the touch of eyes on her skin, she didn't acknowledge them. She was too excited for that, and immensely too busy to bother looking down when she walked. Oops! Sorry about that!
Odezca startled, edging back a few inches as her white-gold eyes met the dark brown of the cheetah. There was mischief in the look, a delighted little spark of adventure that surged through her as freely and sweetly as the rising ocean tide. She was a bold creature, too honest for her own good, for all that she considered herself a temptress. Too inexperienced by far for such a manipulation, but it was the artless interest that often snagged her customers. She didn't have a mask, only a constantly changing expression, bright-eyed and delicious. Her bold eyes caught his and she grinned suddenly, enough to flash fangs as her ears trembled with the excitement. "Okay, so you bumped into me. Now, you owe me a game." She grinned, her voice filled with that unmasked mischief. She had been so bored since Calla had locked her in her room. On this golden day, under the sun, it was time to shine like stars.
The tigress caught the look of the jaguar behind the cheetah and tilted her head, ears flicking down to the side. "Though...we might have to run." She whispered, tail lashing. She might have been bigger, but she had no fighting skills to speak of, and everyone must have known it.
A stupid, oblivious grin stretched across Hyro's innocent face as he looked up at the feline that he had accidentally run into. The young tigress was very beautiful, her coat shining in a way that not many others on the street were able to accomplish without copious amounts of product and time. Sensing a kindred spirit in the burnished gold of her eyes Hyro's tail twitched with the excitement of an impending adventure.
Three out of the five months he'd been alive had been in the sole company of his parents. They hadn't had much time for exploration, both of them had been so set on reaching the Jungles of Vikos that they quickly reprimanded Hyro whenever he strayed from the path. Now that he had finally made it to Naxorus the very social cub was dying to make new friends and discover all sorts of new secret hiding places!
Hyro quickly brought himself to his feet, listening excitedly to the mischievous tones of the tigress. "Ok! What kind of game would you like to play? I know tons!" Just as he was about to start naming off every single game he know, a low growl sounded behind the cheetah cub. Turning on the spot he lifted a paw in an awkward wave, "Umm... I'm sorry did you want to play too?" Hyro's grin slipped a little in the face of the very hungry jaguar, but it quickly reaffirmed itself on the cheerful cub's face. "I know! How about we all play tag?!" The spotted kit bounded forward and nudged his nose on the spotted cat's leg who was so surprised that lunch had decided to step closer that he didn't immediately know how to respond. "Your it!" Turning tail, Hyro dashed between the legs of the tigress with a laugh of pure glee, "C'mon! Don't let him catch you!!"
He was young -- there was no doubt about that --but there was something alive inside of him that spoke to her on a deeply emotional level. It was more than their shared immaturity. There was a hunger inside of them, a need, and a desire to reach out beyond the bounds of their normal lives and take it by the claws. They wanted adventure. They thirsted for something more than what they were handed. It was a catching energy, and they seemed to be feeding off of each other in this very brief moment. His eyes gleamed with their shared excitement, giving in to her childish demands with some of his own. He had a pleasant voice, a pleasant manner -- but more importantly he was addicting.
It was a different experience than what she felt toward Callaminta -- nothing could change that. There was love there, bursting forth from the very ground she had cultured so carefully. She wanted to impress the older cheetah; she wanted to shine as bright as the sun so that Calla wouldn't be able to look anywhere else -- it was a deeply monopolizing emotion she had never experienced that excited her, and urged her forward toward the goal. Callaminta forced her to feel things that fluttered in her gut and in her heart. This young cub spoke to the adventurous side of the bold-faced tigress. He spoke to the unrealistic side of themselves that she treasured just as much, if not more. If she hadn't, she wouldn't have run away from home -- she wouldn't be near this glorious pyre of cultural excitement.
Odezca's coat rippled with the tantalizing emotions zipping through her at lightning speed -- but she hadn't taken her eyes off of the jaguar. The bulky, muscular male seemed to vibrate with the need for violence, and it was violence she did not understand. The tigress didn't even know how to hunt properly, let alone fight off an oncoming threat. Though her heart squeezed tight, adrenaline burst through her veins, making her flush with delight. The feel ling itself was tantalizing thing, ears twitching, even as the young cheetah said in his cheerful voice, Umm... I'm sorry did you want to play too?
Surprise burst over her features -- and only deepened into a combination of admiration and shock as he ran forward and touched the angry jaguar. Hackles bristling, Odezca tried to look intimidating even as the cheetah ran under her legs.
You're it! C'mon! Don't let him catch you!! -- and the laughter was too catching. She laughed, too, suddenly breaking through the struggle of intimidation that was not working quickly enough. Her delight was a beautiful thing, even in the face of oncoming danger. The small voice in the back of her head told her that she could always try to seduce him -- but that was a quickly destroyed sound, stifled by the surging tide of adrenaline that spiked through her heart. "I don't think you have a chance at that!" she said, her voice high and light, as she skipped back a few steps, tail lashing, her eyes not moving from the threat. "Whoever gets to the bridge on the other side of Erebos Agora, near the fruit stand and pub, first, wins." she said, carefully, head lowering down as her muscles bunched. "Loser gives the winner something good." Odezca grinned suddenly, flashing fangs and laughter before she quickly veered around, and ran, tail flicking up high as she darted into the streets.
"Don't get eaten!" she called back, over her shoulder.
